MATHEW'S APPROACH
For as long as I can remember, I've been utterly fascinated with music and the guitar. Even as a kid, jumping off furniture acting like Marty McFly in "that scene" of Back to the Future, I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to the instrument.
Today's guitar players face a number of challenges
Learning the guitar can be an overwhelming experience. The guitar itself is not very visual, and with so many shapes, scales, chords, arpeggios, riffs, licks, and tricks constantly bombarding us, how do we build a solid foundation on which to grow?
On top of knowing how to play, we also need to know how to sound! Guitar tone is a science unto itself, and a complete guitarist needs to know the ins and outs of amps, pedals, effects, and more!
While it may not be easy, it can be simple
Let's not forget, the guitar is an instrument meant to play music- so maybe that's where we start. If you understand music, know how to place it on the guitar, and know how to control your tone you will be a very dangerous guitar player!
Which is why I've distilled my experience in playing, teaching, touring, recording, and gigging into a holistic approach so my students play better, sound great and understand more.
PLAY BETTER. SOUND GREAT. UNDERSTAND MORE.
